In the fall of 1996 I assisted in the most exciting project I have yetundertaken, helping the software group develop a Real Time Video Coding/DecodingSystem, based on CL560, and conforming to the motion-JPEG standard.Despite thedifficulties we encountered, due to the fact that this field was new to us all,we worked day in and day out, filled with energy and excitement at the prospectsthis field has to offer.It is in this area I would like to carry out my futureresearch, perhaps developing new networking algorithms and image-compressionalgorithms to solve the problems posed by transmitting images on networks.

Soon after this the completion of this program, I worked on aCAAC-sponsored project, "Research on High Resolution Display Systems," which wasbased on the Sony 20_ _ 20_ high-resolution monitor.

After completion of my Master of Science Degree, I began work in theComputer Science Department, and am currently in charge of a new projectentitled "Research on Computer Aided Sperm Analysis".

I excelled more than just at my studies.Amidst my tight schedule, I alwaysfound the time to develop my skills in other areas, constantly participating incollege activities.I was the Vice-Chairman of the Department's Student Council,Vice President of the Student Council from 1994-1995 and President of theGraduate Council for 2 years.Furthermore, I was an active member of the Speechand Debating Club, involved in debates in both Chinese and English and winning1st prize in the 1995 Sichuan University English Speech Competition.I amcurrently working as a graduate teaching assistant, tutoring the undergraduatestudents, who know that my door is always open to them.

For as long as I can remember, I have been exploring the wonders of theinformation age, attempting to discover its secrets.In doing so, I havedeveloped an entrenched team spirit, as I believe that advanced technologies arealways the products of joint human efforts I have a solid background inmathematics, electronics and computer science, which I have taken full advantageof in intensive research in the areas of information transferring (e.g.computer networking), information processing (e.g.image and signalprocessing), and information organisation (e.g.multimedia and computergraphics).As the Thayer School encourages interdisciplinary research, itperfectly suits my background and ideals.

德国留学签证申请流程

一、确认地点

目前在国内，一共有五个可以递签的地方，除了北上广之外，还有成都和沈阳，基本上覆盖了所有的城市，不过不同使馆的辖区是有着明确的规定的，大家一定要按要求确认，准备也要符合要求。

二、预约时间

各个使馆都会有自己的官方网站，大家需要提前登陆预约自己要提交申请的时间，这样可以进行有效的申请分流，不会耽误大家的申请，能够提高审核的效率，要考虑自己准备材料需要的时间。

这时候还要同步的填写线上的申请表，将项目进行完善，天清楚自己的基本信息，提交之后还需要线上完成申请费的缴纳，需要将申请表下载打印，并且保留缴费的证明。

三、准备材料

申请的时候要提交的材料，也是需要进行认真的准备的，需要大家和使馆进行确认，按照要求来进行搜集和整理，大部分的材料，都是可以直接使用申请院校的时候出示的材料的。

要临时获取的是大家的体检表和资金证明，前者需要去使馆指定的意愿接受检查，还要进行疫苗的接种;保证金则是需要大家提前存到银行中的，时间足够之后在去银行开证明。

要确保所有的材料都翻译成德文，为了保证准确性，是请专业的人员进行翻译;而且所有需要手动填写的内容，都是不允许进行修改的，还要按照要求放好顺序便于审核。

四、现场递签

大家按时前往使馆，然后将自己的材料交给工作人员进行审核，确认自己参加面谈的资格，然后接受工作人员的面试，要对自己有足够的认识，并且坚定留学的目标，审核需要半小时左右的时间。

五、获取签证

大家完成现场审核之后，就可以回家等待结果了，审核的进度会在上查询，通过之后会将大家提交的护照和签证一起发放下来，邮寄到大家预留的地址。

德国留学须知生活常识

一、住宿

首先需要安排好自己的住宿，德国的高校内，提供宿舍的数量很少，所以大多数的学生，会选择自己或者和同学一起出去租房子，这个方式其实对学生来说是比较好的。

因为大家可以更加亲密的与当地的环境进行交流，并且有机会接触到更多的本地人，不管是对个人能力的提升，还是与他人交流的技巧，都是很有帮助的。

二、出行

对学生来说，公共出行是最常见的，不管是地铁还是公交，大家都可以凭借学生的身份享受折扣优惠，不过前提是大家办理了交通卡，这是很有必要的。

更节省一点的方法是自己骑车上下课，拥有一辆二手的自行车，是非常方便的;而个人预算比较充足的话，还可以考虑开车代步，虽然支出会变多，但是会更方便。

三、做饭

一天三顿饭，可能还会加上宵夜，新生大都会选择食堂，方便而且安全，最主要的原因是，大家对周边的环境不熟悉，而且餐馆内的价位会比较高。

而当大家熟悉了附近的环境之后，可能会更倾向于自己做饭，前往露天卖场购买新鲜的食材，价格还是比较便宜的，不过大家做饭要尽量避免炒菜，因为可能会触发报警器。

四、预约

为了提高效率，这里很多事情，都是采用预约制的，大家在前往之前，需要先打电话进行实践的确认，以免白跑一趟，大多数的情况下，没有预约是不会提供服务的。

这里主要说一说看病的预约，大家如果不是紧急情况，至少要提前一天打电话进行确认，一般全科医生的预约时间会相对短一些。
